boxedup update: We’re alive!
Yes, it’s true! But whilst the blog’s been a bit of a cemetery (yes, we have blog neglect issues), we’ve been busy in the background plotting, planning and working on the evolution of boxedup!
The last eight months have been all about change for us generally as we settled into life under new ownership (we got acquired back in May 09). Our objective stays the same though - we want to give you the best service for keeping track of the things that you want to get, whether you’ve found those things on boxedup or on any store on the web. And it’s about helping you with your own online shopping, and making it super-easy for those times when some lovely person wants to buy you something for that special occasion!
boxedup is still a work-in-progress (not sure when a website stops being a work-in-progress!), but we’ve been building the team, working on the evolution of the site (we’ve got a re-design going on at the moment), improving our technology, and getting ready for the next phase of our life. So it’s definitely time to get a bit more vocal about what we’re up to, and where things are going. That means more activity here on the blog!
As well as building-out the core service that you’ve got to know, we’re working on ways to save you money as you look to buy things, and creating new ways to find and search for products while you’re on the site. We’ll also be making improvements to the process of adding products to your lists from any store that you’re on, and creating things like mobile access to lists (iPhone app anyone? Plus access through other mobile devices too!), fixing and improving our Facebook app (it’ll be a complete re-build as the current app was built on old ‘plugin’ code - we’ll pull the existing app for now, so apologies for the disruption), and getting features built that you’re telling us are most needed based on our Uservoice feedback (that’s the ‘Feedback’ tab that you’ll see on the far left of your screen when you’re on boxedup - or http://boxedup.uservoice.com).
So if you’ve got something to suggest, want to vote on the suggestions of others, or have a bug to report, then cruise on over there (http://boxedup.uservoice.com). Suggestions could be on specific features, places that you’d like to see boxedup be able to integrate, how you’d like to be able to use the service, or anything else that matters to you! Or if you like good, old fashioned, email then get in touch using support@boxedup.com. We really do want to hear from you, whether it’s the good, the bad, or the ugly! You might also see the odd survey on the site, asking about how you’re finding things (we’ll keep it quick and easy). We’ll also be firing up the boxedup twitter account (http://www.twitter.com/boxedup), so if you’re a twitter enthusiast, and that’s your preferred way of getting in touch, then give us a follow to keep up-to-date with developments, or just @ us if you want to let us know anything.
